How to Get Touch of Styx in Hades Hades is the Greek God of the Underworld where the souls go when they die. Hades is never seen leaving his realm, and is usually depicted with a solemn sad expression. He wears helmets and is accompanied by Cerberus the three-headed guard dog. Hades was given the Underworld when Cronus's three sons Zeus and Poseidon played lottos to determine who is the ruler of the universe. He is the one who rules it with his wife Persephone. 2. Smell the odor. Styx is able to take between 1 to 5 (ish) projectiles, but Styx also has a few tools that help him escape detection. He can whistle or feign vomiting to distract enemies' attention away and utilize his pocket sands to cool torches and kill Bee-Like Enemies (the game refers to them as Sabretooths). He can also throw and bile at soldiers in the area as well as poison their food and drink and even feign vomiting. These methods are not clean, but they serve an important purpose and allow him to keep away from enemies without being too obvious. Other useful items are the potions to disguise odors, which make him smell like the rotting mud and fish and the clone magic that creates a sneaky replica of himself; and the rewind button that allows him to go back without losing his progress, and reappear at an invisible spot. He can also interact with a variety of objects in the environment, such as activating traps and opening doors. In Greek mythology, the river Styx was a passageway that separated the mortal world from the afterlife of Hades. The dead were able to cross the river Styx by using Charon's boat. The Styx was joined by the other rivers of hell, Phlegethon, Acheron and Lethe however, the souls had to cross it to reach the final destination of Helheim. Izitri Adimov, an enigmatic bariaur from the Bleak Cabal, operates a small shop on Styx where he sells the bottled Styx water that he claims will make anyone who drinks it forget everything they know. His motto is ignorance is bliss, and it appears to be working for him as there are a lot of customers. 4. Make contact with his eyes. The river Styx divides the world of the living from that of the dead, connecting Earth to Hades' realm. This unique position in the pantheon made Styx more than an area of separation and she was also known as the goddess of oaths - any oath made in her waters could not be broken. Styx took her job very seriously. Styx was not depicted in the same way in the ancient art as other gods. This could be due to her role as the border between worlds is a dark tone. She is often shown wearing dark clothes, holding a jar or an urn from which her river flows from, highlighting her dominion over the water. She is also typically depicted with a frown which reflects her solemnity and stern nature as the most powerful oath-keeper of mortals and gods. She is the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys or, alternatively, the daughter of Nyx, the personification of darkness and sleep. She was a loyal all-weather ally of Zeus during the Titan Wars, and Zeus rewarded her by having her stream become the agent of all oaths which bound the gods. Her children were Nike Zelos Kratos Bia. They all resided with the Olympians at Mount Olympus. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Styx appears as a filthy river brimming with souls that have been thrown into it by people who have failed to live up to their promises or fulfill their dreams. When Charon takes Percy, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood across the river on their way to visit Hades, they notice the extent to which it has been contaminated by all the souls that are not fulfilled. This is because when someone dies their soul is dropped into the river to be carried by its current to the Underworld which is where they will be until granted rest by Hades. 5. Touch his mouth. Styx is an evocative name that invokes the fear and wonder of those who are familiar with the mythology. She is more than a river that flows through the Underworld. She is a goddess that deserves to be revered and respected. In Greek mythology, Styx was the boundary between life and death. Styx was one of the five rivers that, together with Phlegethon and Acheron, Lethe and Cocytus formed the domain called Hades. When someone died the soul of their deceased had to go through Styx and the ferryman Charon to get into Hades. Only the bravest souls could attempt to survive this terrifying and dreaded event. The ferryman would charge an amount or "obol" to ferry them across. If they didn't pay, they would be condemned to wander along the river's shores like wraiths forever. Styx is, though not as prominent in art as some other gods, is still a force that needs to be reckoned. Her presence is felt in rituals that involve oaths. Her name was invoked to make the most binding promises. Even Zeus took the oaths taken on Styx extremely seriously. So, if you're in need of some divine protection, invoke Styx and ask her for help. She may not respond right away but if you're lucky, she might just be there to protect you from the pitfalls of fate. She may not be able turn you into an unstoppable god, but she can certainly keep you from suffering a painfully slow death.
